Common Grounding Questions
What is grounding?
Grounding involves establishing direct contact between your body and the natural electrical energy field present on the Earth's surface.
This connection can be achieved through activities like walking barefoot outdoors or utilizing grounding products as shown on our website.
Embedded with conductive materials, our products facilitate the transfer of Earth's energy into your body upon skin contact, ensuring a seamless grounding experience.
How do grounding products work?
Each grounding product is crafted with a conductive silver threading. These conductive materials facilitate the transfer of Earth's energy to you through a grounding cord, which can be plugged into the ground port of an electrical outlet.
When your skin touches the mat or sheet, you become grounded, allowing the transfer of electrons. The main concept is to establish a conductive path for electrons to flow between your body and the Earth, balancing the electric charge of your body with that of the Earth.
Our products are built to last, ensuring safety and reliability, and are available at a variety of affordable price points.
What can I expect after using my grounding products?
- Reduced inflammation in the body
- Enhanced sleep quality
- Calmed nervous system and better mood
- Elevated energy levels throughout the day
- Improved blood circulation
- Neutralized free radicals
Does my bare skin need to touch the mat/sheet?
While direct skin contact maximizes the benefits of grounding, it is not a prerequisite. Wearing pure cotton clothing or using cotton materials will allow the conductivity of the grounding products to remain - provided that body parts like arms, legs, or feet are in direct contact with the sheet.
It is important to acknowledge that exposing uncovered areas of skin to the grounding sheet yields more focused grounding benefits. This approach can be especially beneficial for addressing specific areas of concern, potentially accelerating the healing process in those regions.
What plug type should I choose?
This will vary depending on your what country you live in:
Canada and the United States:
Select the "USA Plug" option. This option does not come with an adaptor. This is because our grounding wire is designed to plug directly into the bottom hole of your socket, which is the grounding socket, without the need for an adaptor.
United Kingdom:
Select the "UK Plug" option.
Germany, France, and other EU countries:
Select the "EU Plug" option
Australia and New Zealand:
Select the "AU Plug" option
Singapore & Malaysia:
Typically uses the "UK Plug"
Indonesia:
Indonesia has 2 plug types: type C and type F. The type F plug is the same as "EU Plug".*Please note we cannot support Type C sockets as they are not grounded.
Grounding History & Research
Grounding, also known as earthing, gained popularity as a health practice largely through the efforts of Clinton Ober, a retired cable TV executive. Ober, who had extensive experience working with electrical systems, observed the importance of grounding for maintaining the stability and functionality of electrical equipment. In the late 1990s, he began to consider the potential health benefits of grounding the human body in a similar way. Ober's observations led him to experiment with grounding techniques on himself and others, noting significant improvements in sleep and pain relief. His findings were later compiled and publicized in the book "Earthing: The Most Important Health Discovery Ever?" co-authored with Stephen T. Sinatra, M.D., and Martin Zucker, which brought the concept to a wider audience.
The concept of grounding was further supported by various studies and endorsements from health practitioners who observed its positive effects on inflammation, stress, and overall well-being. The practice involves direct physical contact with the earth, such as walking barefoot on grass, soil, or sand, or using grounding devices indoors. These practices help neutralize free radicals and stabilize the body's bioelectrical environment, promoting better health. Grounding has since become a popular holistic approach, embraced by individuals seeking natural methods to improve their health and well-being.
